The Aquariva 33’ made a show-stopping appearance at this year’s Cape Town International Boat Show.
The 2016 Cape Town International Boat Show took place at the world-renowned Victoria and Alfred Waterfront shopping centre and marina basin from the 14th -16th October. The V&A is a popular leisure destination for both tourists and locals.
The Cape Town Convention Centre was not part of this year’s Boat Show, but the organizers rather opted to pitch a large marquee alongside the quay – right next to the water exhibits. A positive response to this approach was received from visitors to the show.
Despite being blessed with fair weather and calm seas, visitor numbers were considerably lower than previous years with only an estimated 6 974 people attending the show. However, visitors were still treated to a total of 38 exhibitors in the Marquee, and 24 water exhibitors with a total of 57 different craft on display.
The RIVA display stole the show yet again with the Aquariva Super 33’ (the only one in Southern Africa) making its spectacular appearance alongside an innovative, new ‘floating’ RIVA LOUNGE. Guests were treated to first-class service, champagne, decadent canapés and sea trials on the spectacular Aquariva. Elegant seating areas, beautiful RIVA displays and large television screens featuring footage of RIVA yachts, adorned the stand.
A special detail added to the RIVA Lounge was a dedicated and beautifully designed, hand-stitched Italian leather seating area created by master craftsmen to replicate the seating on the RIVA Domino. Easily the most elegant display at the show, guests to the RIVA stand were bowled over by the intricate Italian craftsmanship of the RIVA show environment.
Visitors to the RIVA Lounge were able to get up close and personal with the world’s most prestigious yacht brand and discover just what makes it so sought-after – if they didn’t already know.
It is exhibits of this calibre, which make the Cape Town International Boat Show such a highly anticipated affair.
The dates for 2017 Cape Town Boat Show are tentatively set for 13, 14 and 15 October, a week after the Annapolis Sailing Show.
